Almost Always, the origin story:

Once upon a time, two girls raised on NPR made their separate life journeys from Northern California to Boston to New York. Those girls were Charlotte Addams and Sarah Smithton.

Despite living relatively close to one another from birth, going to university in the same city, and then ending up living mere train stops apart, they did not know one another. It seemed as if their paths would never cross. And then miraculously one day, their lives intersected. (we’ll spare you the story of exactly how we met, but we will say that the location of said meeting was the Way Station - which is an awesome bar in Brooklyn and you all should visit it)

This is not at the Way Station, but it does feature a Tardis. Matt Smith's Tardis to be exact. We were very excited to meet it. Thanks tumblr/BBC America!

Long story short, through museum visits and zoo adventures and overdoses on English pop culture, they became best friends. One day, while watching QI episodes on Hulu Plus, Sarah turned to Charlotte and said “we should write a radio show.” And unlike most casually mentioned ideas, they actually started to do so. This madness is the result.

Influences for this show include Wait Wait! Don’t Tell Me, A Prairie Home Companion, The Reduced Shakespeare Company, Hamilton, and Chelsea Peretti, to name a few.
